Camden County To Host Virtual Narcan Training Session Tuesday
The sessions were previously held in person, but moved to a virtual session so authorities can continue to aid those battling addiction.
CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — The Camden County Addiction Awareness Task Force, in partnership with Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, will host a virtual Naloxone training session from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, county officials announced.
The sessions were previously held in person, but moved to a virtual session so authorities can continue to aid those battling addiction during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Our nation has long been combatting an overdose epidemic, but the coronavirus pandemic has exacerbated the challenges we face in keeping people safe and has made delivering critical resources that much harder and that much more important,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “The Overdose Prevention Act eliminates civil and criminal liability for anyone who is in a position to help someone and administers Naloxone. If you believe that someone you know is at risk of an overdose, this training could be what arms you with the tools to save their life.”
