Cannabis Dispensary Proposed In Gloucester Twp.

A permit for the dispensary was previously denied, a meeting notice said.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Gloucester Township Zoning Board is scheduled to hear a proposal this week regarding a proposed cannabis dispensary, a meeting notice said.

The permit for North Jersey-based HoneyGrove South Corporation's 3,440-square-foot cannabis dispensary in the 1200 and 1300 blocks of Blackwood-Clementon Road was previously denied for two reasons, the public notice said.

No. 1, the dispensary fails to meet the township's requirement of being located more than 1,000 feet from any public or private school serving kindergarteners through 12th graders, daycare facility or public park, according to the public notice.

No. 2, the dispensary fails to meet the township's requirement of being located more than 500 feet from a single, double, or multi-family residential use, according to the public notice.

The zoning board will hear testimony explaining why it should waive those requirements at the meeting, the public notice said.
