Two Arrested After Car Crashes Into Gloucester Township Home

The car was speeding before it crashed into a vacant home early Saturday morning.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story indicated there was a police chase involved with this accident. The car was traveling at high rate of speed and was seen by a Voorhees Police Officer, but there was no pursuit. Patch apologizes for the error.

Two people were arrested after allegedly crashing a car into a vacant home in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township early Saturday morning.

Two unidentified people crashed into a vacant residence at 1 Spring Ridge Court and Somerdale Road after traveling at a high rate of speed around 2:04 a.m. when they were observed by a Voorhees Police Officer.

Gloucester Township Police were summoned to the scene, and helped track down the two suspects, who allegedly fled from the scene.

Gloucester Township Police K9 found one person hiding under the car. Other officers found the second person hiding in the the backyard of a neighboring home, according to Gloucester Township Police.

No injuries were reported, and both people were transported to the Gloucester Township Police Department Headquarters for processing and further investigation.

Police didn’t release any further information, due to the ongoing investigation.
