Car Flips After Hitting Sign In South Jersey, Police Say

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A car flipped over during a crash late Tuesday night and landed in a business parking lot, the Gloucester Township Police Department said.

At around 10:40 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Black Horse Pike (State Highway 168) and Almonesson Road for a report of a serious vehicle collision.

Based on early evidence, a driver in a Toyota Venza was going south on Black Horse Pike when the car went into the northbound lane and hit the back of a Honda Accord.

This caused the Accord to spin in the road.

The Venza kept going through the intersection, went off the road, hit a utility pole guide wire, went through landscaping, and collided with a freestanding electronic display brick sign for a business.

The vehicle then flipped in a nearby business parking lot.

The two people who were in the Venza were rescued by emergency personnel before being taken to a medical center with serious injuries, according to authorities.

The driver of the Accord was not hurt.

Both vehicles were left with significant damage.

The cause and other details surrounding the crash are still under review.
