School Buses Targeted In Catalytic Converter Theft: Gloucester Township Police

Police released camera footage of two vehicles and several suspects who they say stole catalytic converters from township school buses.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Thieves stole catalytic converters from six Gloucester Township school buses in late November, and police are looking to identify them.

Police say the thefts happened Nov. 28 and 29 at the Gloucester Township Public Schools Transportation Center in Blackwood. Both evenings, an SUV dropped several suspects off while a white sedan drove around the area as a lookout, police said.

The suspects cut a hole in the fence and stole six catalytic converters, police said. They also damaged two other vehicles in trying to get the catalytic converters out, according to township police.

The SUV is described as a late-2000s Honda Pilot with no front registration tag, roof racks, and a sunroof. The white sedan has no front registration tag, tinted windows, and a sunroof according to township police.
