CCCI Event Offering Info on Short-Term Investment, Long-Term Rewards

Rewarding jobs await those who invest in the short-term occupational training and career studies offered through the Camden County Career Institute. An educational open house for prospective students interested in such programs will be held May 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event will take place on the campus of Camden County Technical Schools in Sicklerville, where a majority of the CCCI trade training programs are offered. It will be held in the cafetorium of Building 4 at 343 Berlin-Cross Keys Road.

Open house attendees will be able to learn about each of the short-term job-preparation programs offered by the Camden County Career Institute. Occupational training options include electrical, HVAC and plumbing apprenticeships, automotive technology, medical assistant, cosmetology, culinary arts/restaurant operations, dialysis technician, electrical technology, HVAC, technology support specialist, veterinary examination room assistant and welding.

Enrollment in the cosmetology program includes the opportunity to put what’s learned into practice by staffing the CCCI’s full-service salon, which features hair, nail and skin treatments one night a week each spring semester. Enrollment in the culinary arts/restaurant operations program includes experience running the Blackwood Bistro, an on-campus student restaurant that offers five-course sit-down meals one night a week each spring semester.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet program instructors, speak with staff and register for classes. Most programs begin this fall, and take as little as 10 months to complete. Daytime and evening sessions are available.
