Child Fatally Shot In South Jersey; Homicide Investigation Is Ongoing: Prosecutor
Officials took the boy to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
MILLVILLE, NJ — A homicide investigation is ongoing after a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot Monday night, says the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office.
Millville police responded at about 10:20 p.m. to a report of a male suffering from gunshot wounds on City Park Drive. Officials took the victim to Inspira Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
The prosecutor's office hasn't publicly identified the victim — a Millville resident — as of Tuesday morning. There's no known threat to the public at this time, the agency said.
