Children Will Shop With A Gloucester Township Cop Saturday

The sixth annual Heroes and Helpers program is set for this weekend.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — It's that time of year when youth in Gloucester Township have the chance to go shopping with police officers. The Gloucester Township Police Department, with a partnership with the Gloucester Township Target, will host its sixth annual Heroes and Helpers Program on Saturday.

In this case, the “Heroes” are the children, and the “Helpers” are the police officers. The event, also known as “Shop With a Cop,” takes place on Saturday, Dec. 8, 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Each child will receive a gift card to spend on Christmas gifts for their families. They are paired with a police officer, and will have the chance to buy $100 worth of presents for their families. The presents are wrapped by Target staff members. The participants also get a special visit from Santa.
