Clementon-Berlin Road Bridge Project Begins
The $2.3 million project began on Monday. Check here for an update on travel impacts.

The project to replace the Clementon-Berlin Road Bridge in Clementon began on Monday, Sept. 24, Camden County officials announced. An alternating traffic pattern will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day until the completion of the first stage of the project, currently set for Sept. 27, weather permitting. After that, one lane of traffic in each direction will open. In all, this $2.3 million project will completely replace the obsolete span which was first built in 1929.
“Improving our roadway infrastructure while increasing highway safety is one of the best investments we can make in our county,” said Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “Each year the Freeholder Board identifies roadways and bridges that are in need of improvement across our region.”

- Entrance to the shopping center from Clementon-Berlin Road will be right turn only at the temporary driveway closest to Gibbsboro Road intersection.
- Entrance and exit to the shopping center will be through the rear driveway from East Atlantic Avenue.
- Access to the Santander Bank will be from East Atlantic Avenue.
“This project will require frequent changes to closures and traffic patterns, motorists should stay informed on how the latest stage of the project will impact their routes,” Shin Angulo said. “When driving through a construction area always be prepared for sudden stops, shifting traffic patterns, and other unexpected hazards on the roadway.”
