Clementon Man Arrested for Assault in North Wildwood

A Clementon man wanted on warrants out of Gloucester Township and other municipalities was arrested and charged in a strong arm robbery in North Wildwood on Sunday night.
Matthew Alston, 24, was arrested and charged with robbery, theft, simple assault and criminal mischief, North Wildwood Police said.
Police responded to reports of a large fight on the 300 block of East 26th Avenue around 10:50 p.m. on May 8. The victim told police he had jewelry stolen from him, and described his assailant.

With assistance from the Wildwood Police Department, Alston was found on Juniper Avenue in Wildwood a short time later, and was arrested.
Alston was also wanted by Gloucester Township, Clementon, Stratford and Glassboro municipal courts on multiple warrants.

He was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center on $5,000 full cash bail on the charges from North Wildwood.
