Cook on St. Patty’s Day? Blarney! Let Local Places Do It For You

Places in Gloucester Township and West Deptford are among those in the region getting ready for St. Patrick's Day.

CAMDEN COUNTY — Some establishments in Gloucester Township and Westville and elsewhere in Camden and Gloucester counties are making it easy for residents to get their share of St. Patrick’s Day-themed food and drink this week.

For instance, Filomena in Blackwood is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day event from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. this Thursday. According to the restaurant’s Facebook page, there will be food, drinks and live music.

Speaking of drinks, Thomas Murphy’s Pub in Gloucester City’s Facebook page indicates that the restaurant will be serving green beer – no, not green tea, green beer – all day long on St. Patrick’s Day.

Those with a sweet tooth may find something at Just Cookies and the Artisan Marshmallow Co. in Pitman. Their Facebook pages reveal St. Patrick’s Day treats, with the marshmallow shop getting the party started early by offering “Irish inspired marshmallow snacks, drinks, sales and … amazing coffee drinks” from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday instead of Thursday, its Facebook page said.

Pitman is also home to restaurants like Merrymen’s Pub, for those who want more than just a sugary treat. Other restaurants, including Schilleen’s Pub in Westville and The Riverwinds Restaurant and Colonial Café, both of which are in West Deptford, will be open for St. Patrick’s Day revelers.
