Cops to Take Gloucester Township Children Shopping This Weekend
The police department and Target are partnering for the third annual Heroes and Helpers Program Saturday morning.

For the third year in a row, children in need in Gloucester Township have the chance to go shopping with a police officer.
The Gloucester Township Police Department and Gloucester Township Target are partnering to present the third annual Heroes and Helpers Program (Shop With a Cop) on Saturday morning, Dec. 5, 8 a.m.-9:30 a.m.
In this instance, the children are the heroes and the police officers are their helpers.

A total of 20 children will participate. A boy and girl from each elementary public and private school were chosen, with help from the Gloucester Township Public School District, to participate.
Gift cards will be purchased for each child to spend on Christmas gifts for their families. Each child will pair with a police officer to pick out $100 worth of Christmas presents for their families. The presents are wrapped by Target staff members. The participants also get a special visit from Santa.
