Crash Causes Gas Leak In Gloucester Township: Photos
Police say the driver hit the curb and went through a resident's yard, striking the house and damaging the main gas line.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Police say a car crashed into a Gloucester Township home on Saturday night, causing a gas leak.
Officers responded to a crash at around 9:47 p.m. and say the driver of a car swerved, striking a curb and driving through a resident's yard before hitting their house.
"This crash caused a small fire which was quickly put out by the resident," police said, adding that the occupants were not hurt.

The people inside the car were taken to a local hospital for treatment after Inspira EMS and Ground Transport checked them for injuries. Police said their injuries appear to be minor.
Erial Road was shut down for about three hours while police investigated and while crews made repairs.

"The impact of the crash caused damages to the residence gas meter and main gas line which resulted in a gas leak," police said. "South Jersey Gas immediately responded and made the repairs to rectify the gas leak. There was no explosion reported from this incident."
Township police said the building inspector deemed the residence to be unsafe, but added repairs are being made.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
