4-Vehicle Crash Injures 1 On I-295 In Camden County: Police

A tractor-trailer driver lost directional control and hit 3 other vehicles, authorities said.

HADDON HEIGHTS, NJ — One person sustained minor injuries in a four-vehicle crash that caused significant backups Monday on Interstate 295, officials said.

State troopers responded to the accident at 11:14 a.m. on I-295 southbound in Haddon Heights. A tractor-trailer driver lost directional control, ran off the roadway and sideswiped a Chevy passenger vehicle that was parked on the right shoulder, said Tpr. Troy McNair.

The tractor-trailer re-entered the lanes of travel and subsequently hit two other vehicles, McNair said.

The Chevy driver sustained minor injuries and was brought to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported, McNair said.

Following the collision, officials closed the two leftmost lanes on the three-lane southbound side. Traffic was delayed by 15 to 20 minutes, according to the NJ Department of Transportation.

There are no longer any backups related to the crash as of mid-Monday afternoon, according to NJDOT.

The crash remains under investigation, and State Police had no additional information available.
