Dates Set For Red Cross Blood Drives In Gloucester Township Area

Donations typically drop during this time of year.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ - Five American Red Cross Blood Drives will be held in the Gloucester Township area during a period when donations typically drop. Blood drives will take place on the following dates at the listed locations:

  • Blackwood: Jan. 3, 1:45 p.m. - 6:45 p.m., Our Lady of Hope Parish, 701 Little Gloucester Road
  • Clementon: Jan. 11, 1 p.m. - 6 p.m., Cherrywood Apartments, 1200 Little Gloucester Road
  • Sicklerville: Jan. 12, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Sicklerville United Methodist Church, 406 Church Road
  • Somerdale: Dec. 26, 2 p.m. - 7 p.m., Somerdale Fire Department, 101 Park Avenue
  • Stratford: Dec. 24, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Jefferson Stratford Hospital, 18 East Laurel Road

Now is an important time to give blood and platelets, according to the Red Cross. A seasonal decline in donations occurs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day when donors get busy with family gatherings and travel. In addition, severe winter weather can cause blood drive cancellations and negatively affect the blood supply.

Give the gift of life – make an appointment to donate blood and platelets by downloading the free American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
