GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A prospective business owner could receive preliminary approval to bring a cannabis dispensary to Gloucester Township.
Puff Ganga, LLC hopes to operate a retail dispensary in Laurel Hill Plaza (2001 College Dr., Clementon). Gloucester Township Council is set to vote Monday on whether to give Puff Ganga the go-ahead.
The business would be located in Gloucester Township's Highway Commercial Zone — an area where the township allows for the zoning of dispensaries.

Opening a cannabis business in New Jersey is a multistep process that requires state licensing and local-government approval. In Gloucester Township, a business must receive initial support from council members.
A successful vote from Township Council would essentially confirm that Puff Ganga would be conducting business in a zone where dispensaries can operate. That support is conditioned upon Puff Ganga acquiring a license from the state cannabis commission and receiving approval from the township zoning board within the next year.

Puff Ganga would be located in a strip mall across the street from ShopRite of Laurel Hill.
At Monday's council meeting, the vote on Puff Ganga is part of the consent agenda — a set of resolutions considered routine matters, which can all be passed in a single vote without a public hearing.
