Dog Walk At Camden County College To Raise Money For County Animal Shelter

The walk is this weekend.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- The Camden County Animal Shelter hosts its third annual Pledge-A-Paw Dog Walk and Event on Saturday, Oct. 15, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Camden County College in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township.

Over 200 walkers and 60 local vendors, animal welfare groups and rescues will attempt to raise pledges to benefit the animals of Camden County Animal Shelter, county officials said on Thursday.

“Come out and walk with my best friend Norman, the dog that the law prohibiting Camden County pet stores from selling animals from puppy mills was named after,” Camden County Freeholder Jeff Nash said. “Norman’s Law also encourages residents to rescue dogs from local shelters.”

The event will include treats and snacks from the Doggy Snack Bar, one-mile dog walk, raffle drawing and prizes, music and entertainment.

There will also be exclusive police canine demonstrations by Officer Gabrielle Camacho with K-9 Officer Peyton and Officer Daniel Fiori with K-9 Officer Major from Camden County Police Department, and Ptl. Christopher Gerace with K-9 Officer Arrow from the Gloucester Township Police Department.

There will be a Pet Costume contest, Tail Waggin’ contest, Best Dog Trick contest and more entertaining pet activities.

The Camden County Animal Shelter will be showcasing their pets available for adoption in the CCAS Pet Parade.

The Camden County Animal Shelter, a non-profit organization, is seeking to raise $40,000 to assist with caring for thousands of homeless animals. All animal lovers and community members are invited to join CCAS in raising pledges prior to the event and at the event.
