Driver Killed After Crash With NJ Transit Bus In South Jersey: Police

The driver succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, authorities said.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A driver died Tuesday morning after her Lexus collided with an NJ Transit bus in Gloucester County.

The crash occurred at around 5 a.m. at the intersection of Fries Mill Road and Hurffville Cross Keys Road in Washington Township.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2005 Lexus was traveling west on Hurffville Cross Keys Road, police said. As the vehicle entered the intersection, the bus traveled south on Fries Mills Road, according to law enforcement. The Lexus collided with the bus in the intersection.

Officials took the Lexus driver to Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township, where she succumbed to her injuries. Police haven't publicly identified her as of Monday morning.

The intersection was closed for about three hours.
