DWI Charge After 3 Hospitalized In South Jersey Crash: Police
A Blackwood man was charged with driving while intoxicated and assault by auto.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — An intoxicated driver caused a crash that hospitalized three people early Saturday morning in Washington Township, police said.
The two-vehicle collision occurred just after 1 a.m. at Egg Harbor and Mount Pleasant Roads, authorities said. Daq Cole, 25, of Blackwood, was charged with driving while intoxicated and assault by auto.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Toyota Tacoma was traveling north on Egg Harbor Road, authorities said. Meanwhile, Cole's vehicle was traveling west on Mount Pleasant Road and hit the side of the Toyota in the intersection, police said.

The Toyota overturned onto its passenger side, resulting in entrapment, officials said.
Officials took two people to Jefferson Hospital and another to Cooper Hospital. It wasn't immediately clear which individuals were transported to hospitals.

Cole sustained minor injuries, while the other driver suffered head and back injuries, police said.
Egg Harbor Road was closed for about two hours.
