Emergency Dispatcher In NJ Stole Sensitive Information: Prosecutors
The acts went on for nearly a year, according to officials.
MILLVILLE, NJ — A woman who worked as an emergency dispatcher for the City of Millville was arrested on Thursday after she allegedly accessed and shared classified information, the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office said.
Samantha J. Simpkins, 30 of Cedarville, is charged with:
- Third-degree computer theft by unlawful access of computer data
- Second-degree computer theft by unlawful reproduction of computer data
- Third-degree computer theft by unlawful reproduction of computer data
- Third-degree unlawful access of data of restricted data
- Second-degree unlawful access and disclosure of restricted data
- Second-degree official misconduct
Between November 2024 and August 2025, Simpkins allegedly went beyond her authority as a public safety telecommunicator/dispatcher for the Millville Police Department to get items from the Millville Police Department and New Jersey Judiciary databases.

She is also alleged to have shared information from these databases with unauthorized parties on multiple occasions.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, some of the material included data on active criminal cases, surveillance video, and identifying information for suspects, victims, and witnesses.

Simpkins was released on Thursday and is scheduled to make her first court appearance, a pre-indictment conference, on April 23, according to court records.
Patch has reached out to City officials for comment, but is yet to hear back.
