Fallen Tree, Telephone Pole Closes Route 561 In Lindenwold

Strong wind and rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Ian brought the tree down, Camden County officials said.

LINDENWOLD, NJ — A large tree fell onto Route 561 in Lindenwold on Monday morning, knocking down a telephone pole and tangling electrical lines.

Camden County officials said Route 561 (Haddonfield-is closed between the Uxbridge Condominium Complex and the Winner Ford dealership, just before Brace Road. Strong wind and rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Ian brought the tree down, Camden County officials said.

PSE&G and Verizon are on scene waiting for a new telephone pole and working to decommission power lines from the fallen tree.

“The road will be closed for an extended period and based on that, motorists should find an alternate route,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works.
