Fatal 2-Vehicle Crash Along Atlantic City Expressway Evening

A Subaru and a motorcycle were involved in the accident, according to New Jersey State Police.

HAMMONTON, NJ — A motorcycle driver died in a two-vehicle crash along the Atlantic City Expressway in Hammonton on Thursday evening, New Jersey State Police told Patch.

Victor Lorraine, 63, of Erial, died when his motorcycle hit the back of a Subaru near mile marker 28.5 in the westbound lanes, police said. The impact of this collision overturned the motorcycle, throwing Lorraine from it, and caused the Subaru to veer off the road and strike a tree, police continued.

The driver of the Subaru did not sustain life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The cause of the accident remains investigation, according to police.

During the approximately 3-hour long accident investigation and cleanup, westbound traffic on the expressway exited the highway at Hammonton, took a detour and got back on the expressway at the Winslow Township exit, according to a Thursday evening MetroTraffic report.
