Fighting Hunger

one woman's crusade

For 19 years Kathryn Denz has made it her mission to collect food for the Food Bank of So. NJ. Seeing anyone fighting to feed themselves or their families was so upsetting to her that she found a way to aid them in their battle to combat hunger. Although managing a physical therapy office means long hours at work, she devotes her time after work and all weekends from the start of the food drive in November through December. The food bank delivers needed barrels to her which are then distributed by her to participating locations. At the close of the drive, she then is tasked with going to all the locations, placing the food in her car and bringing it to a central location where the food bank arranges for pick up. In past years a local self storage facility donated a bin, but since new owners took over they can no longer help. She needs to find a storage facility and is hoping some Christmas miracle provides one. Drop off your food donations at any of these locations: 27 East Chestnut Ave. Bellmawr, 527 Beverly Dr. Magnolia, VFW Post 3324 at 600 Black Horse Pike Runnemede, Vertical Fitness 156 W. Browning Rd. Bellmawr, Spinal Health & Rehab5045 Rte 38 in Pennsauken, Aquilino Chiropractic 1000 White Horse Rd Voorhees, Karbasian Law Office 900 Kings Hwy No in Cherry Hill, Ivy Rehab 1436 Marlton Pike E in Cherry Hill or Envy Salon 132 Broadway in Westville. Everyone doing just a little bit amounts to so much to fight hunger.
