Free Wawa Coffee Marks Store's 54th Birthday

Coffee of all sizes will be given away for free on "Wawa Day."

It’s been 54 years, so why not: Wawa is giving away free coffee on Thursday. In celebration of its 54-year anniversary, the convenience store is giving away free coffee, any size, all day on Thursday, April 12, Wawa announced.

The first Wawa opened in 1964 in Folsom, Pa., according to the store’s website. Its first New Jersey store opened in 1968. Delaware followed in 1969.

Wawa has expanded its services over the years. Earlier this year, the Wawa expanded its delivery service to Cherry Hill. Last year, it opened its first Pennsylvania store that sells beer and offers seating. Its annual Hoagiefest is anticipated by customers every year. And, of course, there’s the coffee.
