Gabreil Daveis Tavern to Host Holiday Open House in Gloucester Township
The Open House is Sunday.

Gloucester Township residents have the chance to get their picture taken with Santa at an historic landmark this weekend.
Gabreil Daveis Tavern will host an Open House on Sunday, Nov. 22, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
The tavern, located in the Glendora section of the township, will be decorated for the holidays.

There will be a tour of the first floor and opportunities to take photos in an antique sleigh with Santa.
There will be music and refreshments, and admission is free.

The Open House is presented by the Gloucester Township Historic and Scenic Preservation Committee.
Gabreil Daveis Tavern was built in 1756 near the Big Timber Creek and housed boatmen who used the creek to ship goods to Philadelphia. It was designated a hospital by George Washington during the Revolutionary War.
It was listed in the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Historic Preservation Office in 1973 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
