Fire Leaves Residents Homeless In Gloucester Township: Officials

Neighboring and adjacent units were also cleared.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Residents at the La Bonne Vie community condo units were left homeless after a fire on Saturday, the Gloucester Township Police Department said.

At around 2:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to Shelby Court in the Sicklerville area of the township for a report of a residential fire.

First responders found flames coming from the roof and heavy smoke.

Officers cleared the adjacent and neighboring units to ensure safety.

The fire was brought under control quickly, officials said, and left significant damage to the original home.

Additional damage was done to neighboring units.

No injuries were reported.

Residents at two of the units were left homeless after the dwellings were deemed unhabitable.

Those residents were assisted by the Gloucester Township Office of Emergency Management, in collaboration with the American Red Cross, with temporary housing and other support.

At this time, officials don't believe the fire to be suspicious.
