GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Gloucester Township native who played high school football at Timber Creek and and youth football with the Gloucester Township Lions was recognized for outstanding play during the first week of the college football season.
Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham quarterback Jagger Green was named the Middle Atlantic Conference’s (MAC) Offensive Player of the Week following a record-setting performance in the Devils’ 38-24 win over The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in their season opener.
The junior set a new school record with 593 yards passing, nearly 200 yards more than the previous record of 405 yards. It was the best single-game performance in all divisions of NCAA football after the first week. He completed 40 of his 58 pass attempts, and delivered five touchdown passes, including an 88-yard pass to Mike Panzarino that broke a 24-24 tie late in the third quarter.
