Gloucester Township Police Provide Winter Weather Driving Tips

The tips come one day after police responded to 18 accidents during the first snowstorm of the season in South Jersey.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ - One day after responding to 18 accidents during South Jersey’s first snowstorm of the season, the Gloucester Township Police Department provided the following tips for driving in winter weather:

DO:

  • SLOW DOWN
  • FIND OUT THE DRIVING CONDITIONS PRIOR TO DRIVING
  • AVOID QUICK BRAKING OR ACCELERATION
  • CLEAR YOUR CAR OF SNOW AND ICE
  • WEAR YOUR SEATBELT
  • FILL YOUR GAS TANK

  • DRIVE UNLESS NECESSARY
  • USE CRUISE CONTROL
  • USE HANDHELD DEVICES
  • DRIVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE
  • FORGET WINTER CAR SUPPLIES (flashlight, shovel, gloves, bag of salt, blanket, jumper cables, water)
