Gloucester Township Police Warn Against Passing School Bus With Flashing Lights On
Enforcement patrols are ongoing in school zones and bus stops.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ -- Enforcement patrols are ongoing in school zones and bus stops for illegally passing school buses, according to Gloucester Township Police, who remind residents it is a five-point offense.
"Do not pass or closely approach a school bus with flashing red lights," police said. "Not only is it illegal it's unsafe for pedestrians."
State law requires drivers to stop at least 25 feet away if traveling on a two-lane road or on a multi-lane highway where lanes are only separated by lines, or on a privately maintained road. School buses
are equipped with yellow, amber or red flashing lights that come on when a bus is stopped.
