Gloucester Township Relay for Life This Weekend

Relay For Life is an overnight community experience where teams of friends, family and neighbors walk a track to celebrate cancer survivors.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- Veterans Park in Gloucester Township will host an American Cancer Society Relay For Life event this weekend.

The event takes place from 8 a.m. Saturday, June 11 to 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 12.

Relay for Life is an overnight community experience where teams of friends, family and neighbors walk a track to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost to this disease and join together to fight back.

As of Friday, 25 teams and 239 total participants had raised over $41,000.

During the event, above normal pedestrian and vehicle traffic is expected along Chews Landing Road, Little Gloucester Road, Kelly Drivers Lane and Hider Lane, Gloucester Township Police said.

Additionally, drivers should be cautious of pedestrians in the neighborhoods surrounding the park.

Officers will be on location assisting with pedestrian crossings and traffic control at the park. Residents will still be able to access the park during the event.

Drivers are advised to use caution when in the area.
