Gloucester Township Schools Explore Options For Reopening

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Both of Gloucester Township’s public school districts are evaluating ways to reopen in the fall, although no concrete decisions have been made yet.

Earlier this month, Gov. Phil Murphy issued a list of rules and guidelines for reopening schools this fall amid the coronavirus outbreak. Boards of education were given flexibility that "recognizes and respects" the differences between districts, he said.

This includes the option to rearrange schedules and implement a hybrid of in-person and remote learning. “We are still working out all of the details,” Black Horse Pike Regional School District Superintendent Dr. Brian Repici told Patch this week.

At the Gloucester Township K-8 Public School District has a section of its website dedicated to its reopening plan, but there are no details posted in the section as of Wednesday.

At the June 29 Board of Education meeting, Solicitor Dan Long said the district was developing a plan, according to the Sicklerville Sun. He said the district would be working throughout the summer to ensure they reopen as successfully as possible.
