Jo Crosby was apprehended at her home by law enforcement officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department, the Mount Laurel Police Department and the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office around 6:30 a.m. Monday morning.
“We believe Jo Crosby played a major role in helping her son Kyle conceal the crime of murder,” said Bernardi, who added that due to the specific acts that led Jo Crosby to be charged, no further details would be released on Monday. “She assisted his efforts to conceal the body of his wife, Erica Crippen, after he took her life.”

Jo Crosby’s bail was set at $12,500 with 10 percent permissible.
Kyle Crosby and Crippen lived together with two children, a 7-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, and their 3-month-old daughter.
On Jan. 7, police visited their home to conduct a wellness check after the 7-year-old failed to attend school that week.
Crosby signed a missing person report that day indicating he had not seen his wife since Jan. 1.
After further investigation, Crosby was charged with endangering the welfare of a child due to the level of care he provided to the children in the absence of his wife, on Jan. 10.
That charge led police to stop and arrest Crosby while he was driving his missing wife’s car in Brooklawn.
Crippen’s remains have not yet been recovered by law enforcement. The investigation is being conducted by detectives from the Mount Laurel Police Department, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit. Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Erica Crippen is asked to contact Burlington County Central Communications at 609-265-7113 or the Mount Laurel Police Department through Facebook at facebook@mountlaurelpd.org
