Hidden Cell Phone Found In NJ Elementary School Bathroom: Officials

WATERFORD, NJ — A man who was an employee at Waterford Elementary School put a cell phone in a faculty restroom to secretly record people, the Waterford Township Police Department said.

Skyler Moore, 20, of Clementon, was charged with two counts of third-degree invasion of privacy and one count of fourth-degree tampering with evidence.

On August 14, the department learned of the device that was reportedly in the bathroom.

The cell phone did not have any content of students or minors, according to officials.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Michael Nolan addressed the community in a statement, where he confirmed that class was not being held at the time and no students were involved.

According to Nolan, Moore was immediately removed from work and unable to go into any District buildings or property after the District was made aware of the allegations.

He was also barred from contacting any students or staff and was later fired.

Nolan said law enforcement was contacted immediately and the District fully cooperated with their efforts.

"The safety, security, and privacy of everyone who enters our schools remain of paramount importance to the District," added Nolan.
