Highland Captures District 30 Wrestling Title
Highland won its fourth district crown with 218 points at Overbrook on Saturday.

The Highland Regional High School wrestling team won its fourth District 30 title behind two wrestlers who have been friends for a long time, according to nj.com.
Seth Henry and Lucas Siegfried were among five Tartans who won individual district titles, and Mike Davidson was named Coach of the Year at the tournament at Overbrook on Saturday, according to the report. Henry’s very first match of his career was against Siegfried.
Highland scored 218 points to win the team title. Timber Creek was second with 124 points. Triton finished eighth with 49 points.

Henry won the 106-pound title with a 5-3 win over Williamstown’s Shamun Smith in the final. He advanced to the final with a 5-4 win over Hammonton’s Anthony Roman in the semifinals.
Siegfried won the 113-pound title with a major decision over Washington Township’s Mike Shillingsford. He scored a technical fall over Williamstown’s Nick DeRosa in the semifinals.

Josh Clark, who made state history during this tournament, won the 138-pound title.
Joe Tripoli won the 170-pound championship with a 9-4 win over Timber Creek’s Andres Camacho in the final. Tripoli pinned Hammonton’s Anthony Tucci in 1:08 in the semifinals. Camacho defeated Winslow’s Vincent DiNicolas, 5-2, in the semifinals.
Andrew Baez won the heavyweight title with a 3-1 win over Triton’s Jake Brown in the final. Baez defeated Williamstown’s Marsellos Battle, 6-1, in the semifinals. Brown defeated Hammonton’s Hakeem Parker, 7-1, in the semifinals.
Dillon Prendergast also advanced for Highland by finishing second at 126 pounds. Timber Creek’s Domenic Augello captured that title with the 9-3 win in the final, after he defeated Hammonton’s William Boyle, 12-6, in the semifinals.
Highland and Timber Creek also matched up in the 195-pound final, with Timber Creek’s Kashon Gordan scoring the 5-1 win over Highland’s George Duddy. Gordan defeated Williamstown’s Nate Taylor, 6-0, in the semifinals. Duddy pinned Hammonton’s Tom Donio in 2:47 in the semifinals.
Timber Creek’s Christian Bobe advanced to the regional round with a second-place finish at 120-pounds. He dropped a major decision to Washington Township’s Dom Pataky after defeating Highland’s Justin Cariss, 5-4, in the semifinals.
Cariss advanced to the regional round with a pinfall victory over Hammonton’s Andrew Mays in 3:49 in the third-place match.
Timber Creek’s Blaine Shade advanced to the regional round after a 9-6 loss to Winslow’s Keshaswn Branham in the 152-pound final. He pinned Overbrook’s Joseph Baran in 2:14 in the semifinals.
Other Black Horse Pike Regional wrestlers who advanced to the regional round by finishing third in their respective weight classes included:
- Triton’s Chance Donahue (113);
- Timber Creek’s Peyton Jones (145);
- Highland’s Jared Colbert (160);
- Highland’s Jon Villegas (182); and
- Highland’s Devon Starks (220).
