Highland, Timber Creek Players Taken In 2019 MLB Draft
Jason Reynolds was drafted by the San Diego Padres, and Nick Yoder was taken by the Texas Rangers on the final day of the 3-day draft.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two baseball players from the Black Horse Pike Regional School District are headed to the professional ranks.
Jason Reynolds and Nick Yoder were among the draft picks taken on the final day of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft Wednesday.
Reynolds was drafted by the San Diego Padres with the 953rd overall pick in the 32nd round. Reynolds played high school baseball at Timber Creek before plying his trade with Lehigh University.

Yoder was drafted by the Texas Rangers with the 1,015th overall pick in the 34th round. Yoder played high school baseball at Highland before heading to Rowan College at Gloucester County.
Reynolds, who stands 6’3” and weighs 200 pounds, is a right-handed pitcher who also bats right-handed. In three years, he compiled a record of 9-16 with 148 strikeouts in 36 appearances, according to the university’s website.

Yoder, who stands 6’6 and weighs 190 pounds, is also a right-handed pitcher who bats with his right hand. Yoder was 5-1 with 55 strikeouts in 14 appearances this season. He made 11 starts, according to the college’s website.
