Highland Wrestling Team Falls One Point Shy of South Jersey Final

The Wall High School wrestling team jumped out to an early lead and held on to eliminate Highland from the South Jersey Group III tournament Wednesday night, according to nj.com.
Third-seeded Wall edged No. 2 Highland, 32-31, to advance to the final, where it will face No. 1 Delsea.
Wall secured an early 23-7 lead that the Tartans were never able to overcome.

Highland’s wins included a 14-4 major decision win for 113-pounder Lucas Siegfried; a 4-0 decision for 138-pounder Mikal Jenkins; a technical fall for Sheldon Morris at 160; an 11-5 decision for Joe Tripoli at 182; a 17-3 major decision win at 220 for Mark Gillis; and a pinfall victory for heavyweight Andrew Baez.
Highland finished the season with a record of 13-3, and now turns its attention to the individual state tournament.
