What do you do if it rains on Memorial Day? How about these five things.

It’s rained this year. A lot. And you know what? It’s going to rain again. One can only hope it doesn’t rain for Memorial Day, but for at least part of the state, the outlook isn’t good. So what do you do?

Parades and ceremonies are nice, and are typically held rain or shine, but how do you spend the rest of your day. Patch has five ideas for you and your family as an alternative in case it rains this Memorial Day weekend.

Of course, you can honor America’s heroes with a visit to Battleship New Jersey at 100 Clinton Street in Camden. Tours offer a blend of history, education, entertainment and hospitality. The Gravity Vault offers a chance to do something adventurous. Kids of all ages and skill and experience levels are invited to experience the sport of rock climbing. It has locations throughout the state, each one with its unique layout, and they’re open for Memorial Day. For a list of locations and hours, visit gravityvault.com.

Jumping Jungle at 10 Alvin Court, Suite 100 in East Brunswick (Middlesex County) offers an Open Jump on Memorial Day. The indoor bounce area is clean and eco-friendly, and the parents’ viewing area has free WiFi, magazines, newspapers, massage chairs, HDTV’s and vending machines. The Memorial Day Open Jump is 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for all ages and is $12 per child. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 732-613-5867 or emailing info@jumpingjungle.com.

It’s hard to go wrong with The Funplex at 182 Route 10 West in East Hanover (Morris County). It has an outdoor waterpark, but plenty of indoor fun in case the rain wreaks havoc on your intended fun. They describe it as the fun of the boardwalk, indoors. There are bumper cars, arcade games and laser tag. The Funplex will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Memorial Day, and in case it doesn’t rain, the Splashplex Water Park will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

iPlay America, at 110 Schanck Road in Freehold (Monmouth County), is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Memorial Day, It has over 200 games, as well as rides, laser tag, go-karts, a mini roller coaster and arcade games.
