Increase In DWIs In Gloucester Township As State Reopens: Police
As the state reopens, police said they are noticing an increase in speeding, careless driving, crashes and DWIs.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Five intoxicated drivers were arrested in Gloucester Township over the last week as the state continues to reopen, police said on Tuesday.
“As our state begins to reopen, Gloucester Township Police and area police departments have noticed that traffic has been increasing,” police said in a statement. “This has led to increased crash investigations, speeding, and careless driving complaints. Unfortunately, we have also seen an increase in intoxicated drivers.”
Out of the five drivers arrested in the last week, police said two were involved in accidents. Two others were intoxicated by more than three times the legal limit.

“Intoxicated drivers not only endanger themselves but the lives of every other motorist they may encounter on the road,” police said. “Gloucester Township police have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to driving while intoxicated, so we please ask you to use caution if you decide to drink.
“We care about you and your safety, and we are always here to protect you, so please play it safe and don’t drink while intoxicated.”
