'Large Group' Breaking Into Unlocked Cars In Camden Co.: Police
The unidentified group typically walks through the streets late at night while a getaway vehicle or 2 follows, authorities said.
MAGNOLIA, NJ — An unidentified group has been breaking into unlocked vehicles throughout Camden County, according to a local police department.
Magnolia police say they're working with surrounding police departments to investigate the thefts, which tend to occur between midnight and 3 a.m.
The incidents consist of a "large group" of people walking through neighborhoods and searching for unlocked cars, police said. One or two drivers follow them in getaway vehicles.

They appear to be young — likely 15 to 21 years old, police said.
"It is believed that the vehicles they are driving are also stolen vehicles," the Magnolia Police Department said Tuesday. "One local town attempted to stop a vehicle believed to be involved and it fled the police at a high rate of speed."

It wasn't immediately clear where the group has been or how many incidents they're linked to.
There have been no reports of the group entering any locked vehicles, police said, reminding residents to lock their cars and take their keys with them.
