Latest Gloucester Township Coronavirus Updates

As of Wednesday, there are 822 cases of the coronavirus in Gloucester Township with 50 confirmed deaths.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Seven Gloucester Township residents were among 29 additional Camden County residents tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday. No new deaths were announced anywhere in the county or the township.

As of Wednesday, there are 822 cases of the coronavirus in Gloucester Township with 50 confirmed deaths. Officials don’t state where cases or deaths happened within the township.

Countywide, there are 8,455 cases of the coronavirus with 528 confirmed deaths. According to the Camden County Department of Health, there are 1,330 confirmed cases among residents at the county's long-term care facilities, with 305 deaths. Another 501 cases were reported among staff members, with three deaths.

At Elmwood Hills Health Center in Gloucester Township, there are 165 cases among the nursing home’s residents with 31 confirmed deaths. There are another 44 cases among staff members with no confirmed deaths.

“Yesterday, the United States suffered more than 1,000 deaths due to COVID-19 in a single day for the first time since early June. Although our region continues to keep coronavirus cases down, our nation as a whole is not trending in the right direction,” Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr. said. “While this virus is with us, every action you take will affect those around you. Choosing not to wear a mask, not to stay home if you’re sick, or not to social distance will put others at risk. This has not been an easy adjustment for any of us, but we can save lives if we stay focused on our individual roles in protecting our community.”

Trace investigations are underway in all new cases. The following information is available about the new cases in Gloucester Township:

  • Two women in their 20s;
  • A woman in her 50s;
  • A man in his 20s;
  • A man in his 70s;
  • A man in his 80s; and
  • A woman in her 80s.
