Man Charged With Murder After Shooting In Gloucester Twp.: Prosecutor
The arrest came a week after a man was killed in a local housing complex, authorities said.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A suspect was identified and arrested in last week's fatal shooting at a Gloucester Township housing complex, authorities said.
Hasan Battie was charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses in the death of Nasir Tart. Battie, 21, was arrested Monday in Camden.
Township police responded to the shooting just before 5:30 p.m. April 16 at a home in the LaCascata development, where they found Tart suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Minutes later, the 24-year-old township resident was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Following an investigation, detectives identified Battie as the shooter. He was also charged with second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Battie, of Gloucester Township, was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility, pending a pretrial detention hearing.
