Fire Truck Driver Charged In Deadly Camden County Crash
John Gibson, 29, was driving a fire truck on behalf of the Lawnside Borough Fire Department, according to the prosecutor.
MAGNOLIA, NJ — A Lawnside man was charged with two counts of second-degree vehicular homicide regarding a crash that killed two people from Pine Hill, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.
John Gibson, 29, was also charged with third-degree hindering apprehension or prosecution in connection with the crash, according to the prosecutor.
Gibson was driving a fire truck on behalf of the Lawnside Borough Fire Department near the intersection of Warwick Road and the White Horse Pike in Magnolia on Jan. 19, the prosecutor said.

He then drove into the opposing lane of traffic, against the designated flow of traffic and around other vehicles that were stopped at a red light and entered the intersection without stopping, the prosecutor said.
The fire truck then collided with a car occupied by 68-year-old John Bishop and 75-year-old Marie Endicott according to the prosecutor. Bishop and Endicott were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the prosecutor.

After being charged and appearing before the court on Thursday, Gibson was released, the prosecutor said.
