Man Fatally Shot Outside His Home In South Jersey, Suspect Charged: Police

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the torso early Sunday morning, authorities said.

BRIDGETON, NJ — One day after a man suffered a fatal gunshot outside his Bridgeton home, an individual was charged Monday afternoon with murder, according to police.

William O. Ware IV faces several charges in relation to the death of Brock Hogans, who was shot in the torso early Sunday morning, police said. Bridgeton officers responded to North Street, where they found Hogans outside his home just before 3 a.m.

Officials took Hogans, 29, to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he succumbed to his injury about a half-hour later.

Ware, 25, was charged on a warrant with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. The Rosenhayn, Cumberland County, resident was placed in the county jail without bail.

Hogans knew Ware, according to Police Chief Michael A. Gaimari Sr. But as of Tuesday morning, authorities declined to disclose further details about how they were acquainted.
