Woman's Body Found At Camden Co. Hotel; Husband Charged With Murder: Prosecutor
Another victim reported a carjacking. Police then searched the hotel and found a homicide victim, authorities said.
RUNNEMEDE, NJ — A woman's body was found Wednesday at a Camden County hotel, officials said. Her husband was charged with murder.
At about 1:45 a.m., officers responded to the Days Inn Hotel in Runnemede for a reported carjacking and shooting. The carjacking victim told police that a man fired a handgun at him and stole his vehicle, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office (CCPO).
Police then searched the hotel and found a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, the CCPO said. The woman — identified as 30-year-old Ivy Morris — was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, the victim's husband was charged with first-degree murder and apprehended that day in Philadelphia. Steven Burgess, 38, of Spring, Texas, has additional charges pending, the CCPO said.
Officials plan to extradite Burgess to New Jersey.
