Man Stole $35K In Equipment From County Training Facility: Cops
Shaafiy Simpson is also accused of causing $3,000 worth of damage to the county training center in Gloucester Township.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Burlington County man is in jail after stealing $35,000 worth of equipment from a Camden County training facility and causing $3,000 worth of damage, according to Gloucester Township police.
Shaafiy Simpson, 26 of Westampton, stole $35,000 worth of flashlights, radios and various emergency training equipment from the Camden County Regional Emergency Training Center in Gloucester Township on April 14, police said.
He then poured cleaning solution on electronic equipment and used spray paint to “tag” distinctive markings on the facility, police said. Simpson then went across the street and slashed a car’s tires, police said.

Police that were called to the scene the following day said they were able to identify Simpson through extensive research and analysis on the graffiti markings and evidence.
Gloucester Township police searched Simpson’s home on May 26, at which time they said they found and recovered the stolen emergency training equipment.

Simpson was arrested on June 8 and charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, third-degree criminal mischief, criminal mischief and violation of Executive Order 107.
Simpson was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a Central First Appearance in accordance with the New Jersey Criminal Reform Act.
