A man was killed after being hit by a car while walking on the Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township early Monday morning.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man was killed after being hit by a car while he was walking on the Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township early Monday morning, police said.

The man was killed in the area of Hilltop Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. Monday, according to Gloucester Township police.

The car was traveling north on the Black Horse Pike when it struck the man, who was not identified by police. The man was pronounced deceased on the scene, according to police.

The driver remained on the scene, police said. The Black Horse Pike was closed between Oak Avenue and Landing Road for several hours following the accident.
