BERLIN BOROUGH, NJ — A man faced several charges after trying to pass a $12,000 check in Berlin Borough last month that was not his, authorities said.

Kazeem Obryant, 22, of Sicklerville, was charged with altering a check, attempting to pass a bad check and hindering his apprehension after the May 31 incident at a TD Bank, according to authorities.

After Obryant was taken into custody, he identified himself as someone else two other times before he was correctly identified and subsequently arrested, authorities said. Obryant was then processed and released on a summons, authorities said.
