Man Was Driving Drunk When He Killed Camden County Dog Walker: Official

Darius Wade, 28, was charged Thursday with second-degree death by auto in connection with crash, authorities said.

PINE HILL, NJ — A Pine Hill man was charged Thursday with second-degree death by auto in connection with a crash that killed another Pine Hill man, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.

Darius Wade, 28, was driving under the influence shortly after midnight on May 6 in the 200 block of East 11th Avenue when his vehicle struck 76-year-old Frank Yerka, according to authorities.

Yerka was walking his dog when he was struck, authorities said. He died later that day at Cooper Hospital, authorities said.

It was unclear if Wade was in prison or was released on his own recognizance. The investigation into the crash was continuing Friday morning, according to authorities.
