Man's Body Discovered In Cooper River Thursday Morning: Police

The man's identity and cause of death remained unknown Thursday night.

Pennsauken, NJ -- What began as a rescue effort quickly turned to a recovery effort after a man’s body was seen floating in Cooper River Thursday morning, Pennsauken Police said.

The body was first seen floating in the river around 8 a.m., according to police.

The man was described by nj.com as "an adult black man wearing jeans and a t-shirt." He was discovered in an area of the river between Collingswood and Pennsauken that is rarely used for swimming.

An autopsy was conducted on Thursday, but the results had not yet been reported as of Thursday night, according to the Courier Post.

The man didn't have any identification on him, police said.
