GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Orlando Mercado and Tracey Trotto have been re-elected to their leadership positions on Gloucester Township Council.

Mercado was re-elected by the other members of council to serve as president during Monday night’s reorganization meeting at the municipal building. Trotto was re-elected to serve as vice president.

Mercado has been council president since 2016, and Trotto was elected to the position of vice president last year. They were both unanimously elected by their colleagues.

Gloucester Township also established its meeting schedule and Order of Business with a change. Instead of holding its workshops separately, workshop meetings will now be held before the first action meeting of the month, at 6:30 p.m. Regular meetings will continue to be held at 7:30 p.m. The change was made to encourage greater attendance for workshop meetings.

Council is slated to hold public-action meetings beginning at 7:30 the following Monday nights: Jan. 11 and 25; Feb. 8 and 22; March 8 and 22; April 12 and 26; May 10 and 24; June 14 and 28; July 12 and 26; Aug. 9 and 23; Sept. 13 and 27; Oct. 25; Nov. 8 and 22; and Dec. 13 and 27. One meeting will be held on a Wednesday, Oct. 13.
